1. What Alethya is not
Alethya is not a dating website. Please do not register with the intention of showering other members with messages to chat them up and hook up with them. This behaviour will not be tolerated and we ask all users to immediately report it to us. Alethya encourages members to keep a complete profile page on the site, to engage with the profiles of other users and to connect with each other at socials (and take it from there!).
2. Is there an age limit?
No, other than legal age (18+). Because lifestyle matters pertain to all age groups, here at Alethya we believe that unrestricted access to resources and a support network is a universal right. That is why membership is open to all adult members of the public who are able to display genuine interest in conscious relationships. Although we do not
3. Who can see my personal data?
Whoever you want to, with the sole exception of Alethya admins, who must be able to see your data at all times as part of our legal duty of care towards you. The data you entrusts us with belongs to you and we believe it is up to you to set your comfort zone. You can choose whether your details are completely private, visible by other members or by the public in general. This excludes your first name, which must be visible at all times. Unless you choose otherwise, all your answers to our registration questionnaire will appear on your personal profile and nobody will be able to view them unless they are a registered member of Alethya.
4. Why do I need to disclose my sexual orientation, gender identity and relationship arrangements?
Information about your sex, gender and lifestyle is gathered with the sole purposes of facilitating interaction amongst members and ensuring a balanced mix of experience and sexualities at each event. We are relentless
5. Do I need to add pictures to my community profile?
This is not a dating website, so you are not required to submit pictures or create a photo gallery. However, bear in mind that a profile picture showing your face will help other members gain interest in you and identify you at Alethya events.
6. Is membership free?
Yes. Alethya membership is completely free of charge.
7. Who decides on whether my membership request is approved or not?
Admission is at the sole discretion of the Alethya admins, who examine each new request for membership and collectively make a decision.
8. Why has my application been rejected?
Believe it or not, most applications which are rejected end up so because the applicant fails to meet the 200-words minimum requirement. Other times, it is because the statement is poor, vague or not aligned with Alethya’s ethos. Due to the high number of applications, we generally do not offer specific feedback on each application. If you believe your application was rejected unfairly, please get in touch.
9. What is a “verified user” and how can I become one?
A “verified user” is a member that the Alethya Events Team have met in person at a social. You can become one by coming along!
10. How can I contribute?
Members are encouraged to become an active part of the community. If you wish to write an Alethya blog post, contact an administrator and ask to be made an Author. You can also write blog posts on your own personal page. These are shared with members only by default, but can be made public. Alethya is ever-evolving so if you have ideas and suggestions, feel free to contact the Alethya Team in writing or in person.
13. Where can I find NoMo’s Acceptable Use Policy?
NoMo is covered by Alethya’s Acceptable Use Policy, which you can find at www.alethya.com/acceptable-use-policy.
