Alethya came across this quote in a newspaper article today:
In her book Male and Female, she floated this suggestion: we should allow two, three or four marriages. “The first,” Jackson summarises, “for youthful passion, your second marriage for parenthood, your third marriage for companionship.”
Why is middle age and beyond only for companionship!? What about lust, love, sex, drama, adventure, learning & more? I want the relationships across my lifetime (whether one monogamous one or otherwise) to be about more than just for “companionship” otherwise why not just get a dog :/
