Wow. What a night. Thank you to the all incredible people who came along (over 70) and who made it such a fantastic launch event.
The unusual setting of the beautiful Edward Lear- and Douglas Adams-inspired Owl and Hitchhiker pub was a great backdrop for an event that was filled with humour, warmth, curiosity as well as a desire to question norms and dominant narratives about the self and relationships.
It was an evening designed to celebrate all of the work that has gone into making alethya.com as well as to formally begin sharing our stories and our message about the power and importance of developing conscious relationships in all areas of your life with a wider audience.
The enthusiastic energy in the room as well as the warmth and friendliness extended to everyone who was there really struck people. We had attendees ranging from 22 to 65 and almost every relationship structure and gender and sexual identity was represented.
The curiosity, open mindedness and receptiveness of everyone there was palpable as guests shared stories, experiences and ideas with old friends as well as new. There was much discussion and feedback as to how very important, and needed, this kind of community is.
We had a short talk from Dr Lori Beth Bisbey, experienced psychologist and intimacy coach. She talked about the myths and stories about relationships and how they can get in our way as well as the challenge of identifying and breaking relationship pattern. After that, the founders of Alethya, Andrea Solza and Anita Cassidy, gave an insight into what the website and associated products are all about. The talk about Alethya can be read here.
